Govt has asked Board of Governors(NMC) to prepare draft guidelines for the fee structure in private medical colleges and deemed universities from next academic session 2020.According to sources, fees for 50% of the MBBS seats in private medical colleges will be between ₹6 lakh to ₹10 lakh With the process of constitution of National Medical Commission currently on, the Union Health Ministry has asked the Board of Governors (BoG), vested with powers of the MCI, to prepare draft guidelines for the fee structure in private medical colleges and deemed universities from the next academic session. According to sources, with this reduction planned by the BoG(NMC), fees for 50 % of the MBBS seats in private medical colleges and deemed Universites will be between ₹6 lakh to ₹10 lakh Currently, in a number of states, including Delhi and Maharashtra, Karnataka ,Tamilandu, MBBS students are charged upto ₹25 lakh annually.
